When you first open the app, it guides you to add your first cat:
- Tap "Add Cat" and enter the name and basic information
- Return to Home and tap the "+" button in the lower-right corner to add records
- In Settings, customize the foods, medications, and care items you use often
Go to Settings → Manage Cats and tap "+" in the upper-right corner. Each cat has its own profile and records.
Tap the cat avatar at the top of Home to switch cats quickly.
Tap the green "+" button in the lower-right corner of Home to open the 9 record types. Pick one, fill in details, and save.
The whole process usually takes under 30 seconds.
Go to Settings, choose the relevant list (Food List, Medication List, or Care Items), open an item, and add one or more reminder times in Reminder Settings.
Each reminder supports:
- Custom labels, such as "Morning medication"
- Exact hour and minute
- Weekday settings, such as weekdays only
- One-tap enable or disable
Open Trends from the bottom tab bar to view blood pressure history. Charts only show raw values you recorded:
- Systolic pressure, diastolic pressure, and heart rate
- Measurement environment and state
- No value grading, diagnosis, or treatment advice
If the blood pressure module is hidden, enable it in Settings → Show Blood Pressure Records.
In Settings, open Care Items or Checkup Fields, then tap "+" in the upper-right corner to add a custom item.
Care items can optionally include numeric values; checkup fields can define a field name and unit.
Tap a record in today's timeline or the calendar detail page to open the edit screen.
Swipe a record card left to reveal Delete, then confirm.

If iCloud Backup is enabled on your iPhone, app data may be included in your encrypted iCloud backup under your own Apple account. Apple manages that backup; we cannot access it.
Method 1: iCloud Backup
If iCloud Backup is enabled, choose Restore from iCloud Backup on your new phone and app data may migrate with the backup.
Method 2: Manual export/import
- Old phone: Settings → Export Data, then save the file to Files or email it
- New phone: after installing PurrJournal, use Settings → Import Data and select the exported file
Deleting the app also deletes all locally stored data, and itcannot be restored。
If you have an iCloud backup, reinstalling and restoring from that backup may recover the data.
Before uninstalling, strongly consider using Export Data to save a backup file.
Check the following:
- iPhone Settings → Notifications → PurrJournal: confirm notifications are enabled
- Confirm the reminder is enabled in the app (green switch)
- Check Do Not Disturb or Focus mode
- Restart the app and save the reminder settings again
If the issue continues, contact us.
Try these steps:
- Fully close the app from the app switcher, then reopen it
- Restart your iPhone
- Check the App Store for updates
- Confirm iOS is version 17.0 or later
If these steps do not help, email ziyeapp[at]gmail.com and describe the exact steps that caused the crash.
PurrJournal supports iPhone and requires iOS 17.0 or later.
Please refer to the App Store page for the latest availability and pricing.
